prominently this season. Despite Robin’s hectic
schedule they actively maintain a close relationship. “One of the episodes is the day in the life
of a rock star, following Robin on an excruciating
day with the media, performing and changing
outfits, radio, print and TV”, Alan says. Whether
you’re a fan of the music or not, a glimpse into
the family dynamic of a pop idol, a television icon
and a beauty queen step mother does have the
potential for interesting television. “I am really
just a fly on the wall watching Robin’s success.

staying grounded and taking his success in stride”.
Being grounded is what gives the Thicke family
their uniquely affable sense of humour. Despite
all of their collective success, their ability to laugh
at themselves and each other makes “Unusually
Thicke” a mildly enjoyable lark on a Wednesday night. By no means should you change any
important plans to watch, but if time permits,
tune in and you may just crack a smile. After all,
it is reality TV, but at least it’s fake reality TV.
