As an orchestra , we are an ensemble of artists , teachers , designers , marketers , philanthropists , and civic leaders . We are partners who come together to create joy , inspiration , and human connections through music — a community need that has proved even more essential in times of crisis .
That is the story of the 2019-20 season , outlined within . We developed a transformational strategic plan , faced the unknown of COVID-19 , and took steps to acknowledge systemic inequities and drive positive change .
Fueling our transformation to-date and ahead is you — our advocates , friends , patrons , and supporters . Words cannot describe the gratitude we feel for the investments of our community that have allowed us to arrive at this extraordinary moment .
As an arts organization , we are Maryland ’ s largest . With you by our side , we can fully occupy that position — realizing expansive reach and impact when “ normal ” activities can resume , and providing meaningful respite , inspiration , and education in the virtual interim .
