An Historic RESOUNDING Campaign
Long before the BSO ’ s 2016 centennial celebrations were announced , a strategic effort was launched to ensure the Orchestra ’ s visibility , relevance , and service in Baltimore , in Montgomery County , and across the State of Maryland for many years to come . RESOUNDING , The Campaign for the BSO ’ s Second Century , was an effort to significantly build our endowment , in turn providing incrementally-increased support of BSO operations in the long term ; and , to provide immediate operating support .
Thanks to the overwhelming support of our community , we are proud to share the following outcomes :
$ 32,196,130 IN ENDOWMENT GIFTS With $ 23.9M received to date , and $ 8.3M in future receivables and planned gift commitments , we have already benefited from a much-needed bolstering of our operating Endowment .
$ 7,023,736 IN INCREASED ANNUAL FUND GIFTS Supporting outright operations from 2013 to 2019 .

The future of the BSO is bright . With a new strategic plan in place inclusive of new short-term and long-term capital goals , the BSO closed the RESOUNDING campaign in Summer 2020 to pursue this bold new direction .
