Sustainability

Despite reduced booking numbers , MASC maintained support from municipal and provincial governments and foundations . We were grateful to receive additional COVID-recovery funding from many of the key partners . This allowed MASC to sustain our organization and our artists for the remainder of the school year . We are particularly pleased that this support helped MASC cover 50 % of the artist fees for the many cancelled bookings due to COVID , which was greatly appreciated by our artists who rely on this income .
We are grateful that many of our event funders honoured their support of our events , covering the cost outlays that had been incurred by the time of cancellation .
We are proud to announce , that for the first time in MASC ’ s history , we have secured a four-year federal operational grant from Canada Council for the Arts , to start in 2020-21 .
