Programs

MASC is committed to providing equal access to arts and cultural experiences to those living in underserved neighbourhoods and rural communities . By bringing artists into communities , MASC reduces economic barriers through subsidized programming as well as removes institutional barriers by providing community members access to professional arts programming where they live and go to school . MASC brings the arts to the people .
School Program : Our year began very well with strong demand for MASC programming and partnerships developed with our school partners in both English and French boards as well as with arts organizations working within schools . 2020 was filled with challenges starting with the onset of the labour unrest in the school system in November and then the pandemic . We were pleased that our school partners continued to value the importance of the arts and joined us in our Online Pilot Project , booking more than 80 virtual performances , workshops and residencies !
Seniors Program : MASC delivered a variety of arts programming to seniors in English and French . Programming ranged from dance workshop series to performances . More than 2700 seniors participated in these programs that were offered in partnership with 36 community partners .
Online Pilot Project Program : MASC is proud to have launched the pilot MASC Online Program in less than 2 months after the onset of the pandemic . By August 2019 , over 200 virtual programs ( 1 / 3 of total programming ), including workshops , performances , residencies and 20 professionally filmed Videos-On-Demand , were available across all artistic disciplines in both English and French .
