Croatian in the American Civil War

During the American civil war, many Croatians served as individuals and in an organised Croatian company. They were fighting for the South.

The first Croatian immigrants, mostly from Dalmatia and Istria, came 200 years ago to Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Texas. They were mostly fishermen, sailors, but also the businessmen in the South.
