FAMOUS WRITER OBJECTED A GERMAN GOVERNMENT!

In the past years a lot of conflicts started. One of the most important conflicts was a strike in Września. It was organized in May 1901 and it ended in 1902. Children and their parents attended the strike. The most important purpose was to win with the Germanization among children. The strike was organized with the help of a priest, who supported participants. Last time turned up, that not only he supported them, but Maria Konopnicka also did. Her poem “Credo” was written to encourage Polish people to fight for the country. In this song we can see that she applied offensive words to Germany. Konopnicka wrote about patriotism, absolute love and praying. She wanted people to believe that God will help Polish people to make impossible. She was stressing it in ending of every stanza writing the words: “So help us God!” . The poet induced a scandal in the press and among Polish people. Unfortunately Maria Konopnicka didn’t want to answer any questions. However we heard her opinion during her meeting with her friend : “ I won't allow treating innocent children like that, they did nothing bad. I couldn’t watch like our country was falling. I hope that “Rota” will open all Polish eyes”. In her poem, we can read such words :

“The German won't spit in our face,

No Germanization of our children,

Our troop will arise in arms,

Spirit will lead the way.

We will go when the golden horn sounds”

What do you think about it ? Is the writer doing right to protect children from Września? We think it was a sacrifice . We are finishing today’s articles and want to invite you for a new edition next week.

Opening of the Museum in Krakow

Today is special day, the 7th of October 1897 to all artists and connoisseurs of art, and also for people that are valuing culture and history of our home country.

Thanks to city council place where anyone can come and inspire themselves or admire outstanding art works, made by human hands was created. I as an artist also wanted to pass something from myself, to fill the empty walls of that building and to start something extraordinary.

Painting "Nero's Torches" which I worked on for long months seemed suitable .Its monumental and arouses huge emotions. I concluded manifold feeling which dwell in people’s faces ,which reflects with that event. In ideal sphere I showed two different entourages: Roman elites ,mostly corrupted or threatened by despotic Neron ,and indomitable Christians dying for their faith.

That piece of art also has reference to present times to the situation in Poland and Russia .The words on the painting frame I took from the Gospel of Saint John:

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it".

I expressed objection to violence and despotic politics of the Russian tsar. It stands as a symbol of future victory of those that are despised and weak now.

That place is special, because it's in the center of Europe. It will bind distant cultures of east and west. Young people will be inspired and will unite with creators, because nothing connects people better then art.
