Nevertheless, I understand that “Nigga” might be appropriate among some Black Americans, but not appropriate, especially when used by Whites in America. Use of the “N” word by whites typically calls forth a swift negative reaction. Though some whites may believe the stereotypes associated with “Nigga,” (as do some blacks themselves) it is clearly not politically correct to use this term in society. However, I feel that the poem perfectly fits into this day and time, because if one group finds this term socially acceptable, but another does not, then is it socially correct for the accepting group to become offended when an outside source uses the term (i.e. a group besides Black Americans)? However, one will get a deeper meaning from the poem “Nigga” after simply analyzing the poem, and reading deeper into the words and structure.
