INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
The International Relations Society offers students the opportunity to participate in debate with a difference. In our weekly Model United Nations sessions we engage with a diverse range of international issues in a unique debate format where everyone can get involved in order to work towards a resolution and have some fun along the way! There are also opportunities to travel to conferences abroad such as ScotMUN in Edinburgh and compete with delegates from all over the world. Since its foundation, no UCC delegation has ever returned without at least one award and we are exceedingly proud of this record. However, if this all sounds too serious for you, we also hold‘ themed’ MUN’ s fun nights when you can cast off your
chosen country in favour of your favourite character. In addition to this, the society hosts informative guest speaker events within the sphere of international politics as well as innovative collaborations with other societies. UCC is also home to Ireland’ s first ever annual Model United Nations conference EireMUN, hosted by IR Soc for the first time last year. This conference saw delegates travel from as far away as Lebanon to take part and the society is proud to be hosting it again this year. NatMUN is the society’ s schools programme and allows Secondary School students from all over Ireland to take part in a weekend of debate and fun while fostering an interest and awareness in international issues.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The International Student Society here at UCC is here for all students, international or otherwise. We are a society made up of a diverse background of cultures, who come together to share a few laughs and have a good time. We’ re all about really getting to know people from every part of the university in a fun environment. The core principle of the International Student Society is to ensure that the international students that come to study abroad at UCC can immediately find a place where it’ s easy to make friends and to learn about Irish culture.
We hold a lot of parties and get-togethers throughout the year, which have proven to be a great way to meet other students and make friendships for life. We also come together to watch the big international sports matches, and we hold scavenger hunts and loads of other fun events as well. One of our most inviting aspects is that we regularly go sightseeing and to events together in Cork, as well as trips all around Ireland so that students can see as much of the country as possible.
