Wide Open Fairings Tech Sheet
Pre-Fit Fairing Before Painting
Take everything out of the box to make sure that
you have everything you will need. To Pre-fit the
fairing, use 6 black 8 x 3/4” screws (included for
later use to attach the access panel and optional
splashguard cover support) to attach the fairing to
the brackets . Use one on each side along with one
on the top and one on bottom.
After Fairing is Painted
Place the fairing in a soft chair or on a blanket to
avoid scratching.
1. Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the installation.
2. Install the mounting brackets using the 18
stainless steel screws. (See Picture 1)
ends first and work your way to the middle.
This helps protect from water. Note: Do not cut
rubber trim. It should be tight!!!
5. Install the stereo in the splashguard cover. The
splashguard cover has 2 clips on top & bottom. Pull the bottom of the splashguard cover
down and away to remove. There is a piece
of double stick tape attached at the bottom
back of the splashguard. Take off the paper
covering the tape, then stick your stereo to the
splashguard cover. Attach the stereo to the
cover with ¾"electrical or filament tape. (See

3. Install the stainless steel trim. Put the Neoprene Washer between the fairing and the
trim. To make this process easier take a piece
of Duct Tape and apply it on each side to hold
the trim in place. (See Picture2) Now install
to the fairing with the black Phillips screws.
(See picture 6)

6. Drape the antenna inside of the fairing and attach the ends with tape leaving the piece that
connects to the stereo hanging out of the
stereo opening. (This will not provide the
range that a vertically mounted antenna will
provide, but works fine in most cities.) (See
picture 5)
8. Take the short part of the wiring harness and
feed thru the bottom hole in the bottom of the
fairing. (There are 2 predrilled holes; you decide which side you prefer, except for Victory
fairings). Now you can wire the stereo. Install
stereo into the fairing with 4 black Phillip
screws, then snap the splash guard trim in to
place. (Included in splashguard cover box.)
Remove the seat t o gain access to the battery.
Cut the in-line fuse down the middle and attach the in-line fuse to the red wire on the
wiring harness, using the butt connector. (See
picture7) Then run the long part of the wiring

the windshield. Put a piece of duct tape on the
back of the 11mm wrench, then put your
washer/nut combo on it. This helps to hold it
in place(It also makes it easier to bolt on the
washer/nut combo.)( See Picture 3) Line the

windshield up, start with the middle hole and
bolt it on. then move to the outer holes and
do the same. May want to use some Loctite
on the windshield bolts. Note: Do not over
tighten bolts this might cause the windshield
to crack.
4. Install the rubber trim between the windshield and the inside of the fairing. Start at both

As for the wiring of the stereo and speakers,
refer to the manufacturer’s manual for information on installation. Do not us the clips or
speaker template. You will first install your
stereo wiring. The stereos with Red & Yellow
wires will need to be wired together. These
wires will be connected to the positive side.
Separate the speaker wire, bring one end out
of the speaker hole and the other end out of
the stereo hole for easy access. Install your
speaker wire to the speakers, attach speaker
harness under the fuel tank. Connect the inline fuse to the positive and then connect the
black wire to the negative on the battery. Note:
Connecting these wires to constant power
could result in draining the battery. Please unplug wiring harness when not riding for a long
period of time.
9. Secure any excess wiring out of the way and
replace the seat.
10. Attach the wiring access panel with 4 black
Phillip screws , 8x3/4. (In bolt bag)
11. Now follow the pre-fit instructions to mount
on your bike.
