12th Annual Contest Division G, District 79 Message from the Past Division G Governor (2011-2012) Division G stands for G-reatness! This is how we are brought up in Division G. And we can say that A-ttitude of C-ommitment works. We make goals happen, take positive action, follow our vision without wavering to achieve E-xcellence. A.C.E. to Greatness is the only vision acceptable to us. When we are the leader, commitment is a choice of making a compelling decision, jumping in, and going forward with gusto. Once a commitment is made, there is no more “ifs and buts”, “will I or won’t I?” A commitment is about making a decision so strong that there is no going back. The decisive act of making a commitment is to do whatever it takes to reach a goal sets in motion an energy field that propels us forward on our path. At each step along the way, our commitment inspires us to take positive action and overcome obstacles, and pushes us on until we “make it happen.” We are like a car racer whose goal is to reach first in the finish line. Part of our commitment is to let our self to do things differently. We recognize what’s not working and willing to change what we’re doing to achieve our goal. We are nurtured by the choices we make. We become responsible for our thoughts, feelings, words, and actions. “Own” the choices you make and the results that follow. I remembered when I was the Division G Governor, we faced a lot of challenges from dying clubs, to creating a club, to maintaining membership, to making the area and clubs vibrant and to living a Toastmasters legacy of success. And the challenges we face of having sponsors and venue for areas and division contests. There were times when you wanted to give up, when you told yourself that it was over, when all what was left was reality that you were about to fall. But when you see your team and members waiting for you to make a single step, a single word, a single smile, you unconsciously stand up, shrugged your shoulder, moved forward and say; ”WE WILL DO IT.” And We did it, not only we created 13 new clubs, re-energized all the dying clubs, we made all the 12 based clubs distinguished including 2 newly chartered clubs but above all, we found a TOASTMASTERS FAMILY and the legacy of success of our TOASTMASTERS FAMILY continues over and over again because we found a leader in you! On the 12th Anniversary of Division G, I am confident, that we can do it again. The term is almost over, but the finish line is still waiting for us. As we unfold the 12th Annual Division G Contest, we will be reminded once again the act of togetherness, the act of teamwork, the act of commitment to excellence to make Division G great a
