This souuenir publication ' s main task is to retrace the history of St Joseph ' s ouer the last 125 years .
It should be of interest not only to the younger generation of Josephians but also to the older generation because they are part of that history .
Sometimes history is looked on as a kind of dead subject - part of the past and possibly for the younger generation something to be forgotten . This is not true - from our history we draw the values , the example and the spirit of which we are made to-day . It would be wrong to minimise the contributions of the past .
This is especially true of St Joseph ' s and all former Josephians whether teachers or pupils . They have provided us with a good strong foundation of tradition which will support us especially in the world of to-day when there are so many cross winds seeking to blow us of / course .
So to the older generations of Josephians let this little booklet rekindle your love for your alma mater . Thank you for what you have handed on .
To the younger generations of Josephians - take what has been passed on - cherish it and as you moue into the pages of history do your best to ensure that what you in turn hand on to future generations will be as bright and inspiring as that which you have received .
