BALANCING GROWTH WITH CHARACTER

Positioning itself as one of the state ’ s safest , most livable communities , the City of Lincoln continues to enjoy strong investment interest . City leaders are focusing that interest to achieve a well-balanced array of residential , commercial , employment , educational and recreational opportunities .

“ Residents appreciate our excellent schools , friendly businesses , safe streets and traditional community ideals , as well as our beautiful vistas , open space and trails ,” says Mayor Alyssa Silhi . “ They value Lincoln as a place to live , raise a family and eventually retire .”
Lincoln ’ s authentic , historic Downtown has come back strong following the COVID slowdown , welcoming new vibrancy in the
form of new businesses , including specialty retail shops and restaurants , bars and pubs , ranging from fine dining to cozy eateries . Neighborhood commercial development is also prospering , as several new restaurants , shops and office spaces are popping up in all corners of the city ’ s residential villages .
Western Placer Unified School District opened the brand new Twelve Bridges High School , Lincoln ’ s second high school . Another beautiful new public amenity , the Lincoln Public Library , has recently reopened following the COVID shutdown , operating as a partnership with the School District .
Several other collaborations exist among regional agencies focused on economic development , woodlands conservation , transportation services , water , solid waste services and others that support longterm growth strategies . The city , Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Lincoln Association regularly collaborate on special events , including one of the state ’ s largest Fourth of July parades and fireworks celebrations , the Lincoln Showcase in the fall , the annual Christmas parade and tree lighting , and other community traditions .
“ Looking ahead , our priorities include balancing growth and quality of life , bolstering police and fire services , repairing aged infrastructure , expanding wastewater treatment capacity and upgrading parks and trails ,” says Mayor Silhi . “ We also look to annex the Village 5 area designated in our general plan and to upgrade internal financial and technology systems befitting a rapidly growing city of the future .”

Our residents appreciate our excellent schools , friendly businesses ,
safe streets and traditional community ideals , as well as our
beautiful vistas , open space and trails .
