Miller notes that economic development is not always about big , flashy projects . “ Small ones can be a catalyst for growth , especially if they align with our clusters for innovative technology ,” he says . He notes that biotech company Turtle Tree recently raised $ 30 million from investors after locating in Woodland ’ s startup incubator Lab @ AgStart with GSEC ’ s help .
“ We meet with companies internationally and regionally ,” Miller says . “ The awareness of Sacramento has increased since the pandemic . We ’ re working on projects now from Asia and Europe .”
