Rule 8
Flexible product designs for drop ducts
Emtelle have a lot of
fibre to the home drops.
products which are designed specifically for ease of
This is a fibre with copper twisted pair meaning you can actually
power the electronics inside the home, or if you want to give
traditional clips, this is also an option.
This is a microduct bundle used inside buildings. You can branch
off a microduct to go to each house, and there is also power
cables in the middle, so you can daisy chain the power feed up
to 8 departments in a department building, meaning your battery
back-up can be put in one area rather than into each department.
This is a traceable drop product. With this, you can easily find
the micro duct after it’s been buried, if you ever need to find that
microduct in the future.
And finally, this product is one of Emtelle’s highest selling
products in Europe, called PIFU, which is a pre-installed fibre
unit. Basically, it is a microduct with a fibre pre-installed which
can be buried directly in to the ground. If this microduct is
damaged in the future, you can put on a 1 euro connector and fix
the microduct, re-install the fibre bundle and re-connect your
house. Whereas with a direct buried cable, you would have to dig
up the cable and put in 2 spliced joints - hence why it’s very
popular in Europe.
