Abby LePage, Briana Godwin( In) Playing with Story Workshop in the Classroom Our active, on-site research presentation dives into the use of story workshop in the classroom and how beneficial it is for students to use instead of straight writing in the classroom. Our presentation will start with an introduction of what we will be discussing and then transition to what exactly story workshop is. We then will show a short video of using story workshop in the classroom and transition into different examples. Lastly, we will break into small groups and actually do a story workshop to demonstrate how it would be done in the classroom. Throughout the presentation we will have multiple examples of UDL( Universal Design Learning) to help all types of learners. Psychology
Cameron Baur( V) The Relationship between Physical Activity and Academic Performance This study explores the relationship between physical activity and academic performance among college students. The study aims to determine whether regular physical activity positively influences academic success. Through self-report survey students will answer questions on their physical activity levels, their GPA, their sleep habits, and their perceived stress levels. Findings from this study may provide insights for how universities and professionals can support the well-being and academic performance of college students.
Mikayla Brennan, Nathan Tindall( In) The Influence of Academic Achievement and Perception of Future Goals on the Self-esteem of College Students We will be studying the correlation between self-esteem and perception of future goals with academic achievement of college students. We will be providing our participants with a survey, composed of the Rosenberg Selfesteem Scale, the Academic Self Concept Scale, and a self- reported GPA scale. We will then examine if academic achievement influences the self-esteem and perception of future goals of college students and share our results through discussion.
Quinn McDermott( In) Exercise and Mental Health through Body Image The researchers examined the correlations between exercise, mental health, and body image. Through a self-report survey, participants answered questions regarding their amount of physical activity as well as thoughts and feelings on their mental health and body image. This study specifically investigates how body image impacts the relationship between exercise and mental health. Discussions depended on the results of our data and solutions for those who may struggle.
