Sacramento ’ s River District has some new towering additions with the Richards Boulevard Office Complex ( RBOC ) topping out this fall . The project ’ s 1,250,000-square-foot , highly sustainable program will respond to the day-one needs of its estimated 4,650 occupants while setting the stage for future development .

When complete , RBOC will feature four high-performance , collaborative and interconnected office buildings , a rich amenities program calibrated for the needs of State employees and a unique landscaping program . Together , these serve as the project ’ s vibrant ecosystem , enhancing and supporting connections between occupants , buildings and the evolving urban fabric of the neighborhood beyond .
RBOC is first and foremost a workplace environment and as such , workplace design is a critical success factor for the State . The final design will drive to energize and activate the workforce and thoughtfully organized floor plates will offer a range of efficient , secure and infinitely flexible spaces that meet evolving workforce needs .
