Wag Hotels , a chain of companion-animal boarding facilities , decided to offer a free week of board for cats and dogs at its nine locations across Northern and Southern California in response to the LNU Lightning Complex fire that began in August . Charlotte Worrell , general manager of the West Sacramento location ( photo on the left ), plays with Hooch ( left ) and Hei Hei in Wag ’ s outdoor area Sept . 3 . The dogs came to Wag after their family was evacuated from their home in Vacaville because of the fire . Wag housed the pair in their own kennel since one of them is unneutered ; normally , the dogs get to play with the other furry guests ( bottom photo ). The West Sacramento and the Santa Clara locations have housed more than 160 evacuated animals .
