In recent years , Marshall has been recognized with several state and national honors . Their Emergency Department is a verified Level 3 Trauma Center with a distinguished stroke response team . Marshall Birth Center is a designated “ Baby Friendly Hospital ” by UNICEF and the World Health Organization for breastfeeding advocacy and best practices . Marshall has also invested in facility expansions and medical technology , including the da Vinci Robotic Surgery System , which assists surgeons in performing highly precise , minimally invasive procedures .
Also , Marshall recently received national recognition for patient outcomes , value of care , and civic leadership , ranking second of 3,282 hospitals , according to the Lown Institute .
