Lindsay Anderson ( P ) Effectiveness of Rehabilitative Programs for Juvenile Delinquents to stop them from Offending as Adults Juvenile delinquency is the committing of criminal offenses by an individual below the age of legal adulthood , or in America , eighteen years of age . The research used for this presentation focused on juvenile delinquents , what factors contribute to their delinquency , and what contributes to effectively stopping them from reoffending as adults . This presentation will explore the proposed hypotheses , the data collected , in addition to previous research studies , and the overall results concluded .
Ron Baker ( P ) The Before and After Effectiveness of Predictive Policing Algorithms Predictive policing algorithms have emerged as powerful tools in law enforcement , aiming to enhance crime prevention and resource allocation through data-driven predictions . The aim of this research is to determine if predictive policing algorithms are effective in comparison to not using them at all through secondary data . Multiple experiments have been conducted with varied results thus far . To further research , a database will be compiled of crime data spanning multiple years before , during , and after the inception of policing algorithms for respective cities and states .
Michael Fienman ( P ) The Effects of Online Gambling The rise of online gambling has completely changed the world of gambling by providing convenience and accessibility that was never before possible . Its simple access and wide availability , however , have sparked worries about how it may affect people , especially in terms of addictive behaviors and the general well-being of gamblers . The present study explores the psychological , sociological , and financial effects of internet gambling on people . The possibility of addiction , elevated risk-taking , unstable finances , and deterioration of social and family ties are all discussed .
Nick Flamma and Justin Carney ( P ) Analyzing Public ’ s Perception of Evidence in Crime The purpose of our research is to answer the question , do people automatically assume people are guilty based on the crime they are accused of ? We gave our participants a scenario of a crime and asked them if the person is guilty of the crime and what elements of the scene contributed to their decision .
