Work begins on Veterans Memorial at Oak Grove Cemetery

HAMMONTON — On October 6 , work began to construct a Veterans Memorial at Oak Grove Cemetery . The existing Veterans monument will be central to the design of this memorial .
The monument was erected on land donated to Hammonton ’ s Veterans of Foreign Wars Passalaqua Post 1026 in 1954 . It was dedicated by Frank and Sue Bruno in memory of their son , PFC John F . Bruno , who was killed in action in Korea in 1953 . It also stands to honor those who “ fought and died for the liberty of their country .”
Oak Grove Cemetery was accepted into E . P . Henry ’ s HeroScaping program , which provided the materials .
