When you stop to consider many of the activities and things people pursue in life ( like earning money , spending time with friends , going on holiday , binge watching a box set , listening to music or eating their favourite food ) they do these things to make their lives better , more interesting , and enjoyable . It is rare that you meet someone who says they want to fill their life with things that make them miserable .
Over the next few weeks we will explore some ideas that you may or may not have ever thought would make you happy , but which psychologists believe can improve your wellbeing and lead to a happier , more purposeful and satisfying life .

Some people don ’ t think it is worth trying to be happy because they believe that happiness is temporary and should be enjoyed whilst you have it . They suggest not pursuing it because you will end up being sad about not finding it . For some people the pursuit of happiness isn ’ t worth it .
