Watch how you wave in the Amazon

In the Amazon region, if you hold your hand with the palm outward and wiggle your fingers at someone it suggests you want them to approach you. For a friendly wave, instead just wave your hand sideways.

Best time to visit Machu Picchu?

Between July and October, the weather is typically dry and pleasant. But this is also the busiest time of year. Consider coming in April, May, or June when there is less risk of rain, and non-peak crowds.
