Lake Red Rock Balloon Fest
One highlight of the summer in the Lake Red Rock area is the annual Lake Red Rock Balloon Fest in July. Bring the entire family to gaze at colorful hot air balloons, listen to live music, camp and enjoy fun outdoor activities on North Overlook Beach. This year, the event is scheduled for July 11-13.

Music on the Green
Join the Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra on June 8 for their annual outdoor concert on the Marge Dodd Stage at Indian Hills Community College. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnicking items to join in the fun. The concert will run from 7-9 p. m. The orchestra is celebrating its 38th anniversary this year and puts on multiple concerts throughout its performance season.

Oskaloosa City Band Summer Concert Series
The Oskaloosa City Band begins its summer concert series the first Thursday in June and generally ends the first Thursday in August. The band has been performing summer concerts every year since 1864. It plays a variety of music each night to please all ages. Concerts are every Thursday night at the bandstand in downtown City Park, from 8-9 p. m.

Friday After Five
Each year, Friday After Five brings people together for live music, food trucks, beer garden and other activities at downtown City Park. This year, Friday After Five will be on May 30, June 6 and June 13. The events run from 5-9 p. m. on those nights.

Ottumwa Pro Balloon Races
This summer favorite brings dozens of hot air balloon pilots to Ottumwa Park for a weekend of family-friendly fun. In addition to hot air balloon flights and night glows, the weekend features live bands, food vendors, a carnival, beer garden and more. American Gothic Performing Arts Festival
The Festival ' s mission is to present to Iowa and the Midwest an annual educationally-based festival celebrating the performing arts in an open and friendly atmosphere. This year, the festival has four performances scheduled for June: Sweeney Todd, at the Bridge View Center; Lend Me A Tenor, at the Temple of Creative Arts in Ottumwa; To Be Heard, at the Bridge View Center; and Behind the Curtain, at Ottumwa Golf & Social Club.
