Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra / Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra
Celebrating its 37th year, the Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra puts on a number of performances every year, traditionally with concerts in the fall, winter and spring. They also play for the organization’ s Christmas Ball as well as an outdoor concert, Music on the Green, every year. The organization also hosts fundraising events throughout the year. The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra has a mission to promote quality orchestral experiences by providing live performances, educational opportunities and rural outreach programs. It is centered at Iowa Wesleyan University and supported by boards of directors in three locations: Burlington, Ottumwa and Mount Pleasant, where performances are typically held. It reaches 12,000 people every year and has more than 70 musicians. Annually, SEISO hosts an artist in residence as well as the Young Artist Competition. Pella Community Art Center
Pella’ s art center focuses on giving budding artists the freedom to create and think outside the box. The center offers both adult and children’ s classes, exhibitions, outreach programs and more. The Pella Opera House is Pella’ s premiere performing arts facility. Each year, the venue draws visitors near and far for arts entertainment, social events, weddings and historic tours. Built in 1900 in downtown Pella, the Pella Opera House is

Sculpture Tour
Fine Arts and Cultural Events of Mahaska County first created the sculpture tour around Oskaloosa in 2017. Each year, the sculptures on display have been updated with new sculptures from artists in the community and beyond. This rotating public art program draws residents and visitors to locations in and around Oskaloosa and are available for purchase with the hope that Oskaloosa develops a collection of permanent sculptures over time.

Union Street Players
Pella’ s award-winning community theater produces three main stage shows each year and hosts a summer youth drama camp along with other educational opportunities for community members. Founded in 1989, USP has spent over a quarter century staging quality productions of well-known plays as well as producing original works written locally. USP performs in the Joan Kuyper Farver Auditorium at the Pella Community Center, located at 712 Union St. in Pella.
