Help raise money for breast cancer research. The Ottumwa
event is typically held on the Saturday of Mother’s Day
weekend, but this year’s race has been postponed. Race day
typically begins with packet pickup followed by a one-mile
fun run/walk at 8 a.m. Survivor recognition and the 5K
timed race, and awards ceremony round out the day. For

Discover Iowa’s Dutch heritage during Pella’s annual Tulip
Time Festival each May. Thousands of visitors make a
special trip to the Tulip City each year to admire blooming
tulips and Dutch architecture, indulge in Dutch foods and
learn the city’s unique history. Locals dress in beautiful
Dutch costumes and give tours at the Pella Historical
Society and Museums. This year’s event was canceled due to
health concerns, but you can still explore the town’s unique
Dutch heritage.
