This festival is has been held for more than 100 years, with
the first one taking place in August 1905. The festival is now
held over a three-day weekend in September, and activities
in past years include a vendor fair. carnival rides, a talent
show, kiddie parade, pie auction, tractor pulls, bathtub races,

This is a festival for all things bacon. This annual event
began more than five years ago and brings individual cooks,
restaurants and grocery stores to Bridge View Center. In the
past, the event has featured free admission with samples
available for a slight fee. The event features live bands and a
kids’ area. Look for the event in November.

DuCk rACES
After more than 20 years, this beloved, family-friendly
event returns to Ottumwa Sept. 19. Food trucks and
entertainment for all ages will also be available, and a
portion of the proceeds will go to Whatsoever You Do, Inc.,
to support the Women and Children’s Shelter Project. For

Iowa’s only horror movie film festival returns for its 11th
year in October. Dates for 2020 are Oct. 9-10 at Hotel
Ottumwa. The event is created by horror filmmakers for
horror fans. In addition to the film festival, the event will
feature a zombie walk, costume contest, vendors, celebrity
appearances, a screening of “Rocky Horror Picture Show”
