Amoria Bond Charitable Trust AUGUST 2017
CLOSING WORDS: VISION & CONTRIBUTION Daniel Daw, ABCT Founding Partner
“ 7 years ago when Gareth Lloyd, Nick Barrow and myself set up the Amoria Bond Charitable Trust we wanted to commit to a long-term and ambitious project that would would be sustainable for the community it touched.
We all had an affinity with Peru having as we’ d all previously travelled around the country extensively, so we pledged to build 100 homes in the shanty-town region of Las Laderas.
I can safely say that the journey to fulfilling our commitment has been one of the most incredible and rewarding experiences of our lives. We have formed strong partnerships along the way with Carole & David at Project Peru, Michel and his local building team, Rosa and the wider Las Laderas community.
The people of Las Laderas, who have very little in terms of material possessions, are amongst some of the kindest & inspirational people I have met.
Their hospitality and generosity of spirit is unparalleled, and I feel really privileged to have personally experienced this myself many times having been lucky enough to participate in all 3 Amoria Bond employee trips to Las Laderas.
My sincere thanks go out to everyone who has supported the project over the years. This includes all Amoria Bond employees for their tireless fundraising and salary-sacrifice to help fund the trust, those employees who volunteered to give up annual leave to travel out with us to help with the buildingwork, and everyone else who has donated. Without this we couldn’ t have fulfilled our promise to better the lives of over 500 people by providing them with warm, safe homes!
The emotion and gratitude on the faces of all those families who have had a house built for them is a memory I will cherish forever- so massive thanks to you all for contributing to the Amoria Bond Charitable Trust legacy in Peru.”- words of thanks- https:// bit. ly / peruceremonyfull
