We have Reed Dollaz and Reign Man about to return, and Magic (2 Sick) came back to battle Stampede and he did extremely well, coming from that DVD era also. I am all for them returning, but we have a new breed of killers in Philly too. AndtwonDaDon: Where do you see battle rap going in the next five years? Ray Stizzy: I see battle rap flourishing for a long time. Everything will eventually be commercialized. You have UFF on BET, you have MTV coming out with a battle-rap-themed show, etc. Like my homie Nuff Said pointed out, “battle rap is being commercialized right before our eyes. Make your claim in the culture, because in a few years from now, we will no longer own it.” I agree with that statement. AndtwonDaDon: Would you battle a female? Ray Stizzy: Female-versus-male battles are unfair 90 percent of the time, but I would definitely battle a female. Shoutout to Zan, Lady Caution and Shiest Raw putting on for Philly. My sis Melato Black is one of the most talented female battlers, and I have her beating most dudes. I would want to battle females like that — who are intelligent — and Melato has a superb pen game. AndtwonDaDon: Are you currently recording music? Ray Stizzy: Currently, no. I never started in this game as an artist. I started as a battler first. When you battle actively and on a consistent basis, you are always in battle-mode, and sometimes you don’t have the time to separate the two. But I will be getting some music out in due time. AndtwonDaDon: How can we get in touch with you? Ray Stizzy: Facebook, I am in these groups promoting heavy. My Twitter is “@raystizzzy” and my Instagram is “@ STIZZYPIMPIN215”. AndtwonDaDon: Anything that you want the fans and readers to know before we close? Ray Stizzy: The people should know that Concentration Camp is my squad and we will be killing s**t in ‘14 and beyond. Look out for us; it’s me, G-Wizz, Stampede, DB, Blaqu Mugga, Melato Black, Dope, Rock and Dubble Stackz. Philly is coming back in a major way; we have the veterans coming back and a whole new breed of killers, like my team Concentration Camp, Eazy Da Block Captain, Dubb Da Feenom, Take and others. Watch us make moves this year! 81
