Passwordz, ILLmaculate, Daylyt,
if you look at us and take us from
the west coast you can’t even find
the point of relation between us
and our styles. Literally there is
nothing similar about us. But let’s
say you take DNA, Cortez, Tsu
Surf, and Rich Dollaz no offense
to them, but you will find the
similarities between everyone’s
styles. That’s why when Bill
Collector came out he was such
a breath of fresh air, because this
dude was himself when he came
out. Like JC , he came out of
nowhere and he’s stomping people
out, because he doesn’t sound like
nobody but himself. Look at B
Magic, a guy that I talked to like
2 or 3 yrs ago because I knew he
was going to blow up especially
because he doesn’t sound like
nobody. Were growing in the
wrong direction because people
don’t want to be themselves any
more, and everybody is starting
to conform to this shit. I mean
you’ve got these gay little white
kids talking bout, how they gonna
clap the burner- like- Just shut
the Fuck UP! It doesn’t make it
okay either when you have some
smack rappers talking that same
way and they’ve never even held a
gun before. I mean they don’t do
anything they’ve talked about and
still continue to rap about it. Like
DNA no disrespect to him, but
he’s already admitted a thousand
times that he’s never held a gun
in his life. So every battle when
he says “Imma pop the chrome
off top ya dome” or something
like that I don’t want to hear it!
I ‘am like you’re not doing that.
But because he feels that’s what
people want to hear, he’s going
85
to keep doing that. It just comes
down to nobody wanting to be
themselves, and it’s just going
to fuck everything up. I’m not
going to change I’m pretty much
going to be true to myself. When
you remain that way people
start hating on you saying your
whack because you’re not a part
of the pack and there not used
to what you do. That’s what
brings the hate to people who are
individualized. I mean, Conceited
started that slow it down shit, then
everybody followed like a bunch
of little marks, that shit is NOT
COOL, coming out of everyone’s
mouths, they all think it is, but
it’s not. To be honest, Conceited
should be the only one doing that
style of punch line. But you know
there’s a whole bandwagon doing
it now and they think they are
dope because of it. I mean you
really got to “BE YOURSELF”.
That’s why Hollow is still regarded
as one of the best, because who
else sounds like Hollow? Nobody
and look at Lux, another example
who sounds like him? No one,
he’s always going to have his own
style and his own lane. But then
you look at Mook, and Rex –lets
be real- they sound the same they
are not individualized anymore.
Even taking a look at Arsonal he’s
an individual he has always been
“That Guy”, nobody raps like
Arsonal on this earth. No matter
how many times he gets bodied
he is always going to be okay. No
matter what you do to Arsonal he
will never lose a spot because he
is Arsonal. His thought pattern is
not like any other battler, again
that’s why we exist in our own
lanes. Nobody can touch me or
fuck with my shit at all, because I
do my own thing.
Novie Blendz: In terms of
“Divas” it’s as if a lot of people
are beginning to talk about their
salaries, do you think that’s
unprofessional? Do you think
that’s setting a tone with up and
comers to be all about money,
causing a decline in hunger in
some of the battlers?
Dizaster: It’s definitely killing it,
and its coming from the battlers
that are not being good business
men. I mean they think that they
are being good business men
by asking for more money, but
in reality they are taking more
money out of the culture and the
art when they should be getting
it in other places. They should
be getting that money from
merchandise and jobs, because
they wouldn’t have to ask for
more they would have it. Like if
you were making let’s say $5 or
$6 grand off of merchandise, you
wouldn’t care if you got $5 or $6
grand for a battle, you would settle
for a $1 G or $2G’s because you
would have it. Now you would
be making $7 or $8 G’s and you
would be good. Also they keep
thinking that they deserve more
than what they are worth. I had
to battle for a long time for little
to nothing. So I definitely feel on
that “Diva” shit. You know people
die (battle career wise) because of
things like that. I think there is an
end of the road for everybody in
life that focuses solely on money.
Like people don’t understand that’s
just not how it works, no matter
what money you get out of it at
the end of the day there’s nothing
