Chilla: Great question. Mook vs Lux,
Chilla vs JC, Arsonal vs Conceited,
B Magic vs QP Big T vs Tsu Surf
,
Hitman vs Verb and John John da Don
vs Bill Collector are honorable mention

So, how did you get introduced into
battling?
Chilla: Smack DVD’s! Mook vs Lux
was the first battle of the SMACK era
I saw...From there I looked for the rest
of the Smack DVD battles and any
other battles I could find. Eventually
I discovered Arsonal vs Conceited and
got into Grind Time. It was never my
intent to battle honestly...It was a few
things that lea d to it happening. I
freestyle battled back in the day and
had a rep for that...But I really had
only intended to run ‘The Tank’ (also
known as Shark Tank) battle league
in Boston, and once I had stepped

in the ring and Norbes and URL
caught wind of it, they invited me for
a Proving Grounds battle and I haven’t
looked back since!
100 Bars: Seems to be the beginning
for most battlers. You have a KOTD
Matchup coming up. Do you plan to
be “Chilla” or come with a different
approach?
Chilla: Well, its hard to say since I’m
still preparing but I mean, when the
time limits are shorter, and enforced,
I tend to actually be at my best. My
JC battle is a great example of that. Ill
always scheme but I’m learning to tie
in more punchlines and what I like to
call ‘word flips’, which is what Daylyt
inspired me to start doing more often
from his ‘bus stop’ bars against Rich
Dolarz, and what you saw vs DNA
with the ‘disappear’ and ‘button necks’
sequences in my 3rd round. My focus
is always to be lyrical and bar heavy
so in that regard, I definitely plan on
being Chilla, but I may try my hand at
a little more humor for King Of The
Dot though.
100 Bars: Fair enough. Is there
anyone you’d like to battle soon? No
matter the league?
Chilla: Its funny how the word ‘soon’
totally changes the answers to this
question. But i’d like to battle Charlie
Clips, Yung Ill or Rich Dolarz soon.
Down the line, I wanna battle Real
Deal, Daylyt and Lottazay. Those are
probably gonna be 2014 matchups
though
