In The Mist…
Chapter One The Discovery
Thick mist enveloped the barren, rocky land, as the heavy rain lashed down on their
shoulders. Just ahead, yet in the distance, lay a mountain. It was taller than
Olympus, taller than Everest. The ground on the mountain was as red as blood, like
the lone river was. Ariana was frozen to the spot; so was her father. Fear hung in the
thin air.
Anyway, I should start at the beginning: how it all began, what lead up to what you
have just witnessed, where they are now…
Ariana was sat on a velvet sofa, with a nice, fat book, which was just waiting to be

a smirk, her father walked away.
Slowly, like a snake searching for its prey, Ariana scanned the room of the library,

here? Looking around, Ariana could see a golden river of light, flooding through a
dusty window revealing dust, which was drifting around the room, like fluttering
fairies.
Bang!
Just as she was about to continue reading, a loud ‘bang’ echoed to her ears.
Bang!
There it was again. A shiver ran down her spine, as a flash of lightning rattled
the windows violently.
Bang!
This time, she knew where it came from: The Restricted
