The house in the distance.
Crunch.. . crunch .. . crunch, that was the sound of the fallen leaves under the tyres
of Liv Sterling’s bike, while she was enjoying an afternoon cycle in the wildlife park.
The lighting in the park was dim but she didn’t mind; there was a cold breeze running
through the air, a chill went down her spine. Small animals in the nearby trees and
bushes shook the branches around her as if to warn her of something bigger.
Something stronger. Something dangerous.
Liv didn’t take notice of the animals and continued on her journey. A black cloud
grew above her and it began to drizzle with rain. Cold and damp, she put up her
hood and squinted her eyes, she managed to make out a silhouette. A cloud of mist
gathered around her, and the mysterious shadow was gone. She decided to turn
back and go home. As she cycled she started to get lost; she couldn’t see where she
was going or even if it was the right way until ... CRASH.
Liv flew off of the bike and fell to the floor, but she was strong and got back up. She
must have hit something on the path, she thought to herself and began to feel
around the floor for her bike. Instead of finding her bike she found something else
and it grabbed ahold of her, she was dragged to the floor. She screamed for help but
no one was there to help her. She kicked the attacker and got to her feet she began
to run, the mist had started to clear and the rain had stopped so she was able to see
where she was going. Liv glanced behind her she saw she was being chased by a
figure .. . it looked like the silhouette of a man. She continued to run but was getting
tired and had to stop for air. She turned around to find that the figure must have
given up. But where was he?
She didn’t think about that and turned to find in front of her was a rundown old
farmhouse, surrounded by a corn field. So many emotions and thoughts were going
through her head and the biggest one of all was .. . should she enter the house?
