The hole in the house    The house was dull and alienated. I stood outside of it shocked and scared. I  stepped inside the house, close behind my friend Osbat. The old creaky door  slammed shut, I was going to scream but didn't want my friend to think I was a wimp.  Just when I thought nothing could get creepier, I was wrong, very wrong…     “CRASH!” This time we both jumped and ran for the door. Osbat said “there will be  another way out” I shouted “BACK DOOR!”    As we ran, I tripped up from a gap in the floor. Osbat came to help me, but someone  or something was pulling me in. I could tell that Osbat’s grip was getting loose and …  he let go.    I fell down the hole, it took forever to hit the ground. Osbat saw something red and  shining next to the hole I fell in. He pressed the button and wooden ladders dropped  leading down the hole I fell in.    He climbed down then shook me “you alright mate?” he said.   Shocked that I was still alive I forced my eyes open. I felt dizzy and sick. Osbat  pulled me up   “come on let's see if they have a back door”.  We started to climb the old, wooden ladders, when suddenly something grabbed me  and Osbat’s leg and pulled us. Whatever was pulling us was very strong,    I looked down to my leg and saw a dark green, bony hand that had tight hold of my  leg, it looked as if it wasn’t going to let go any time soon.    I was getting tired of struggling and screaming, I gave up.    I let go, I let the beast take me. Osbat shouted “you can’t give up, please don’t let  go”.   It was as if I had no choice, I couldn’t struggle through this nightmare any more,  maybe someone will save me. But the chances of that was very unlikely.    I hit the ground, except that's what I thought. I opened one eye and I hadn’t woke up  from my nightmare, the nightmare didn’t get better, a hero didn’t come.    The nightmare just got worse.    Charlotte Cuthbertson
