our members as
our Member of
the Month.
For the month of

was
Pratt
Industries,
located
on
Highway 45W in
Three Way.
Accepting the certificate for Pratt are
Bob Graning and Bob
Quigley
Pratt Industries was founded in the
1990s and has become the
country’s 5th largest corrugated
packaging companies, operating
in more than 20 states and
employing over 4,000 people.
Dedicated to protecting and
nurturing the Earth’s natural
resources and reducing impacts
on the environment, Pratt is the
world’s largest privately held,
100% recycled paper and
packaging company. To that
end, Pratt’s paper mills recycle
more than 3,000 tons of
recovered paper every day—
the equivalent of 51,000 trees!
The company’s Humboldt story
actually begins in December,
1988 as Tennessee Corrugated
Box. Founded in part by Mr.
Robert Graning and located
in the same location as today,
the company was acquired by
Pratt Industries in 1994,
We are certainly proud to have
such good stewards of the
environment and such great
community partners in Pratt
Industries.
Congratulations on 26 years in
Humboldt!
Christmas in the Park
“What a great way
to celebrate the
Christmas spirit in
Humboldt,
Tennessee!”
For many years now, the
Chamber of Commerce has
been a partner with the City of
Humboldt and BancorpSouth
in kicking off the Christmas
season in Humboldt.
With great weather and lots of
great volunteers, this season’s
event had one of the largest
crowds in years.
Held on Thursday, January 4 at
Bailey Park, there was no
shortage of fun for all ages.
The festivities got underway
with music provided by the
Humboldt High School band,
followed by remarks by our
honoree, Mr. Lyndell Bunn.
After the arrival of Santa
Clause on a fire truck, there
was a Christmas story read by
Children’s Librarian, Sarah
Peden. Stigall Primary School
children entertained with
some lively music and hand
bells, and the event was
rounded out with bicycle and
goody-bag giveaways for the
kids. Throughout the evening,
coats were given to needy
families courtesy of the Junior
Auxiliary.
This event is truly a community
effort and we can’t thank the
volunteers and donors enough
for their generosity. What a
great way to celebrate the
Christmas spirit in Humboldt,
Tennessee!

At long last the new
Chamber website is up
and running!
It go es without saying
that in today’s digital,
connected world, your
website is your virtual
front door.
For a
chamber of commerce,
THE
VINE
that website acts as a front
door to the community,
giving people from around
the world a glimpse into this
city when they search for
information
about
Humboldt.
As with a brick-and-mortar
facility,
websites
need
maintenance and updating
regularly. In the spring of
2014, the Chamber entered
into a contract with Lunar
Developers in Alamo to
completely overhaul our
website.
