1 - Introduction - Living like a real Christian Work - Cultivating The Garden | Page 2

Monday Isaiah 58 v 6 – 12 Micah 6 v 8 Last week we saw that Christian living is a continual process of bringing everything in line with the truth of the gospel. It means that all of our jobs and gifts and skills are to be realigned in light of the mission of the kingdom of Christ. We saw that the gospel changes the motivation, ethics, and conception of our work. And that we must take the gospel with us to work. This week’s theme is the Gospel and our Neighbour. Rooted in his desire for all of creation to experience his kingdom and shalom, God shows a special compassion and protection for the poor and marginalized throughout the Bible. Use these daily devotionals this week to help you think about what it means to “act justly” and “love mercy.” Challenge Point: Practically this week’s devotionals look at how we relate to our neighbours and our neighbourhood. There are many ways to donate our time, money, energy, and effort to help our neighbours. Throughout this week keep in mind the idea of volunteering your time, money, or resources to a ministry,an outreach project, or perhaps just a person you know who is in need. Especially in light of Christmas just around the corner, your volunteered services could be invaluable and make a huge difference in someone’s life. What can you do this season that will make a difference to someone? How can you reach out to your neighbour?Maybe the person in need is your actual neighbour or maybe it is an outreach project / ministryjust down the road from you? Think of practical ways in which you can reach out to someone this Christmas season and then do it. Tuesday Luke 6 v 32 – 36
