Romans 5 v 8 says it so perfectly, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners Christ died for us.” It is so easy for us as human beings to
declare our love, but our love is always challenged at the point of there being a
demonstration of our declaration. This is what true love is. The Bible is one long story
of God’s declaration of love for mankind. At every turn we see God declaring His love
for us and then at every corner we see Him demonstrating that love. It is this fact that
sets us apart from every other human religion in that our relationship with God is not
determined by our own performance or self-righteousness, but is declared by us
receiving the gift that God has given.
As you come to church today, won’t you come with this mind-set; a mind-set that is
overwhelmed with the privilege of grace and the contemplation of the glory of walking
boldly into His presence to meet with Him.
