1 - Introduction - Living like a real Christian FAITHFULNESS | Page 4
I hope that as we explore it this week that you will be inspired and challenged to offer
yourself afresh as that living sacrifice to God, which Paul speaks of as being a reasonable
thing to do.
Prayer Thought: Won’t you, at the beginning of this week of devotions, ask that God will open
your mind to the reality of what we’re about to speak. We really need a revelation of this truth
that comes, not just from the words of a man, but from the Spirit of GodHimself. It will be a
courageous prayer that you will pray when you ask God to reveal what all this means, but I
pray that as you explore this radical nature of the claims of Christ, that it may lead you to a
place of deeper commitment and a greater love for Him. Amen.

“faithfulness” look like?
The first aspect that I would like to reiterate on the subject of faithfulness, as it applies to our
own Christian life, is that faithfulness should be a radical lifestyle.
When you consider the teachings of Jesus you are immediately impressed by the radical
teachings that, in the context of the world around us, would, by some, be considered to be
terribly strange. Jesus’ teachings were so counter-cultural that He left many people in a
confused, unbelieving state. Jesus taught that it is better to give than to receive –that would
have shocked a few people.
