the king, which resulted in Daniel having to go against the king that he served
and be thrown into the den of lions. When Daniel first heard the edict of the king
that he was not allowed to pray for thirty days, he was faced with a choice. He
weighed up his options, which included just changing the venue of where he
prayed, or just drawing the curtains of his prayer room, but he decided to
continue to pray three times a day at his bedroom window, despite the prospect of
an untimely death. As the king stood at the lion’s den with Daniel, prior to him
being thrown in, the king spoke the words, “May your God, whom you serve
continually, rescue you.” We read how the king came the next morning and found
Daniel to be alive and well, and he declared then, to the nation, that all must
worship the God of Daniel.
The only point I would want for you tosee today is the point that we cannot
separate Darius’s prayer from Daniel the pray-er. God is not so much interested
in the words of the prayer as he is in the person of the prayer (Daniel the man).
Daniel’s character and personal integrity were completely intact. ?B?2F??0?6?&7FW"F?B&V??vWG2v?N( ?2GFV?F????BF??2?2?W"?W76??f?"F?F??&?W"F??Vv?C?&Vf?&RvRWfV?vWB??F?F?R??G&?66?W2?bF??V?( ?2&?W"?fR????fRF?6???RF?F????r&R??R????W"W'6???&V?F???6??v?F?v?C??0?F?W&R6?V"&V?F???6??&WGvVV???R?B?????"?2F?W&R6??F?B??R???r??P??VVBF?6??fW73??v?V?BW&vR??RF?F?F?F?R6??RF??RF?6?F?R???7?&?BF??6??r??R?bF?W&R?2??F???rF?B?26???r&WGvVV???R?Bv?B??BF?V??0??R6??w2??R??&?W"?2F?B??Rv???&W7??B&?&?FV???v???&RF???p?F?R6?R??GVW6F???GF?WrbbR( 2??F?W&R&R?V?&W"?b6?&7FW&?7F?72?bF?R&?W"?fR?bF??V??B?B?2F?W6P?6?&7FW&?7F?72v??6??v?V?B??RF?f?7W2???fW"F?R6?W'6R?bF?R?W?BfWp?F?2??
