history began to develop, God continued to reveal Himself in new ways. On Mount Moriah God revealed Himself to Abraham as Jehovah Jireh (Genesis 22). In Exodus 17 God revealed Himself as Jehovah Nissi, the Lord is my Banner. In Judges 6, He revealed Himself as Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is my Peace. In Psalm 23 He revealed Himself as the Lord, my Shepherd. The final revelation came when He revealed Himself in Jesus, the Messiah. All of these revelations have been progressive by nature. God did not reveal all that He is in one go. I believe that this parallel is true in our own Christian experience as well.
