history began to develop, God continued to reveal Himself in new ways. On Mount Moriah
God revealed Himself to Abraham as Jehovah Jireh (Genesis 22). In Exodus 17 God revealed
Himself as Jehovah Nissi, the Lord is my Banner. In Judges 6, He revealed Himself as
Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is my Peace. In Psalm 23 He revealed Himself as the Lord, my
Shepherd. The final revelation came when He revealed Himself in Jesus, the Messiah. All of
these revelations have been progressive by nature. God did not reveal all that He is in one
go. I believe that this parallel is true in our own Christian experience as well. As we
enduringly desire after righteousness, God will continue to reveal Himself to us in different
ways. None of these ways will contradict Scripture and His existing revelation, but they will
at the same time be very personal to us. My prayer for you is that you will run this race well;
that means that you will run enduringly, not impatiently, but taking it one day at a time and
every step of the way experiencing more of who God is and that the progressive revelation
that the Bible speaks of may become God’s progressive revelation of who He is to you.
Prayer Thought: Take some time today to commit yourself to God for the long haul. Thank
Him for His desire to reveal Himself to you, and then as you continue to grow in your
relationship with Him that your desire for Him will become stronger and therefore more
exclusive, extreme and enduring. Have a great day.

thirsting for righteousness, my thought today goes back to the Garden of Eden. If happiness
is our theme then there is no greater picture of happiness than the Garden of Eden prior to
the fall of man. The Garden of Eden was a place of perfect peace, because it was a place of
perfect righteousness. It’s in the atmosphere of righteousness that true happiness thrives.
Let us spend today contemplating what true righteousness is. Please note at the outset that
righteousness is not perfection. The Oxford dictionary defines righteousness as “law
