The southwest is incredible overall , but remember to manage your elevation in the summer . If it is over 100 degrees where you are , how can you get above 5,000 feet for cooler temperatures ?

The state is gigantic , so break it into sections when you visit , such as Lake Tahoe and the wine country area .
