VISION + TEAMWORK = Outstanding Customer Experiences
How does a small company with no major investors end up becoming one of the top private air services in the world ? Vision , perseverance and teamwork .
“ We ’ re a company of continuous improvement ,” said Banyan Air Service founder and owner Don Campion . “ As our customer base changes due to technology and aircraft changes , we aim to keep up with them .”
One area with tremendous expansion is larger private aircraft . Campion said some people who have been customers of Banyan Air for 10 to 15 years are now buying bigger planes . And Banyan had to increase their game to keep up even though their roots are in small , 2-seater planes .
Banyan is now FAA approved to do maintenance work on larger planes , plus they have approval from 12 South American countries to provide certified service . That means customers from Chile , Brazil , Argentina , Mexico , the Cayman Islands , and others can have their planes serviced in Fort Lauderdale and don ’ t have to pay to have the work certified upon their return home .
“ The Civil Aviation Departments in those 12 countries have audited Banyan and approved our work ,” Campion said . “ We have quite a variety of countries whose citizens come to Banyan for major service work or upgrades and modifications .”
Campion said he ’ s looking to build additional hangars because they ’ re running out of space with what they already have .
“ What ’ s unique about our property is that have about 100 acres with many hangars ,” Campion said . “ Those not used by Banyan have companies renting them that offer services we don ’ t .”
Entering the Banyan complex means you might find a flight school , helicopter repair , charter services , an air ambulance , and more . But none of it is run by Banyan Air .
