STEP 4 :

Place your actor , ghost and CD case inside . Make sure that the CD case plastic has the plain edge along the floor of the box . Then , use your protractor to make sure it is at a 45 ° angle to the front wall . You can secure it with sticky tack to help it stand properly .

STEP 5 :

Close the lid and close the door on the lid . Make sure you can see your actor through the door on the front edge .

STEP 6 :

Open the door in the lid and shine your torch through the hole – watch through the door at the front as a spooky companion suddenly appears !

This illusion is so effective it has been used to resurrect dead pop stars on stage and to create haunted house effects at theme parks . It ’ s also the basis for how an autocue works , delivering the script to television presenters or politicians on stage .
