REACHING OUT TO FUTURE DOCTORS

Dr. Rachid Bendriss

Associate Dean for Foundation, Student Outreach and Educational Development Programs

It gives me great pleasure to introduce this edition of the Student Outreach and Educational Development e-magazine. I am delighted to flip through its pages and see the remarkable contributions from our growing community of students, faculty, and staff that strengthen our outreach initiatives.

As we launch this edition under its new name, Outreach, we take this opportunity to renew our invitation to our internal community to continue to engage more deeply in showcasing WCM-Q to prospective students, parents, schools, and the wider public.

Throughout the year, pre-university students had the opportunity to choose from a wide range of programs designed to support them through various stages of their academic journey. The Office of Student Outreach and Educational Development continues to offer annual enrichment programs that include hands-on learning experiences in science and medicine.  Scientific inquiry competitions, conferences, and essay contests are purposefully designed to promote inquiry-based learning and scientific thinking. Our self-paced college readiness programs are thoughtfully developed to strengthen essential academic and personal skills needed for future university success.

As part of its strategic collaborations, the Office of Student Outreach and Educational Development has also played a key role in supporting Qatar Foundation’s multiversity initiatives by annually hosting both international and local counselors to discover Education City. Additionally, our office led a large number of local and regional school visits and hosted both on-campus and virtual open houses, providing students, parents, and counselors with personalized guidance on admission requirements, timelines, and the application process.

I invite you to peruse this edition of the magazine, which captures our outreach efforts over the past year, and offers a comprehensive view of a campus-wide achievement that deserves recognition and celebration. I take this opportunity to thank my team members for their tireless efforts and sincere dedication to the mission of our institution.
