udrey and Doug Burleson have been together since their junior year at NC State University. Doug has degrees in Wildlife
Biology and Forestry from NC State and Audrey has a psychology degree from NC State and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from
UNC-Charlotte. The two got married in 1997 in Raleigh. Doug is a procurement forester for New South Lumber, Inc. Audrey worked as a psychologist, specializing in chronic pain management
and cardio-pulmonary rehab for Cape Fear Valley
Medical Center, up until they started their family in
2000. They then moved to Pittsboro in 2002 and fell
in love with the town and people here.

During her years at NC State, Audrey
became a group fitness instructor and personal
trainer, and has taught fitness classes and trained,
throughout her adult life in many fitness centers,
gyms, hospitals, and YMCAs.

“When the children where toddlers, I
trained clients in my home, in their homes, and
carted the kids around to various gyms to teach
classes,” said Audrey. “I can get a little long-winded talking about my two favorite things, my family and fitness. Ladies’ Fitness Center has been a
