The company is ideally located in the heart of California ’ s agricultural industry in Woodland . “ In addition to our work throughout the Central Valley , we ’ ve done a lot of projects in Woodland itself at food processing and agricultural industrial facilities , quarry-mining plants , city agencies , retail stores , restaurants and offices ,” Butterfield says .
A member of the Woodland business community for more than 40 years , Butterfield has a strong commitment to the city and its businesses . “ I try to buy locally and use local businesses to equip my company ,” he says . “ I support other Woodland companies because I want to encourage strong business connections here .”
Currently employing a staff of 125 — including estimators , project managers , a service department and administration — Butterfield Electric , Inc . is in growth mode . The firm offers in-house training and is looking to add tradespeople and bring them up through the electrical trade to become journeymen .
“ Steady growth is our goal ,” says Butterfield . “ There is a tremendous amount of work out there , and we will adjust our numbers and our scope to meet the needs in the coming years .
