Since 2015 , U . S . Cold Storage has been working with their SMUD Strategic Account Advisor to integrate the most advanced and energy efficient technology into their building design . To further their environmental and sustainability commitment , the McClellan Park location will be the first U . S . Cold Storage facility in the country to build a microgrid complete with solar and battery storage . By 2030 , U . S . Cold Storage will achieve a savings of up to 8,857 metric tons of CO 2 *.
