Industry is booming again
at McClellan Park

When McClellan Air Force Base
ceased operations in 2001, the
formerly buzzing logistics center
that had employed nearly 26,000
civilian and military personnel at its
height was down to just a few thousand
employees.
“It was a ghost town,” says Frank
Myers, chief operating officer and executive
vice president of McClellan Park,
the development group that took over
the base and transitioned it into one of
the region’s busiest business parks.
Fast-forward two decades, and
McClellan is buzzing again, with an
estimated 20,000 employees working
for approximately 250 commercial and
airport tenants representing a wide
