While the tourism bureau pressed pause on marketing to visitors , Darnell and team pivoted to speaking to its secondary audience — its residents .

A true game changer , the automated ball and strike calling system is helping umpires at Sutter Health Park make their calls . The electronic system relays information almost instantaneously with the ball or strike call made within a fraction of a second , though checked swing calls will still be made by the home plate and base umpires . Steve Martarano reports on the new tech that could forever alter the job of baseball home plate umpires .
