The leadership and business consulting firm Unleashing Leaders provides trusted agents and practical techniques to accelerate the changes their clients seek . Founder and Chief Change Agent Lee Scott started as a solopreneur in 1997 . He crossed paths with Cyrus Aram at VSP in 2001 and stayed in touch and after decades of nagging Aram to leave the corporate ladder for the entrepreneurial experience , Scott prevailed and Aram joined as the CEO in 2018 . Together , the dynamic duo has coached , trained or consulted with more than 30,000 leaders .
“ I believe in two quotes to live by ,” Aram says . “‘ Everybody teaches ; everybody learns .’ You can gain insights from anyone regardless of titles . The second is ‘ Experience is sometimes overrated .’ Yes , we have amazing , late-career experts . We also have early-career agents , many just graduated from university , who are already solving complex business problems .”
Scott also believes leadership is more about choices than position or personality . He says , “ As a leader , I strive to make three choices consistently : passion for
people , faith in the future and playful curiosity . A genuine passion for people makes success a collaborative game instead of a fixed-pie competition . I also focus more faith on future possibilities versus dwelling on limiting beliefs . This faith is a prerequisite to the leadership skill of vision . Third , I love learning more than knowing . This curiosity makes breakdowns just precursors to breakthroughs .”
As Scott says , “ Leadership is a team sport .” Together , Aram and Scott pursue a triple aim of employee engagement , client success and national growth . “ The secret is out and we are growing rapidly ,” Aram says . Their current priorities are scaling internal leadership capacity and systems while leveraging new partnerships to expand into new markets . Ultimately , those strategies enable the firm ’ s change agents to serve more leaders in more communities to make a positive difference for our country .
